Costco Recall Expanded In Western Provinces Over Possible Listeria

If you think you might have gotten sick, contact your doctor.

Costco has expanded a previous recall in four provinces to include more products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Tuesday Costco is recalling Organic by Nature brand frozen Organic Butternut Squash and Organic Vegetable Medley due to a possible Listeria contamination.

The products were sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, with best before dates from April 26, 2016 to April 26, 2018.

Costco is recalling these products over a possible Listeria contamination.

In April, Costco recalled Organic by Nature frozen peas in the same provinces over Listeria concerns.

Listeria symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

Pregnant women are particularly at risk, as infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or even stillbirth.

CFIA says contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. If you have these products in your freezer, return them to the store or throw them out. If you think you might have gotten sick from eating them, contact your doctor.
