Pellet gun to blame for dozens of broken car windows in North Vancouver, say police

Dozens of shattered car windows on the North Shore over the weekend are believed to have been caused by a lone suspect with a pellet gun.

Police in North Vancouver, B.C., say 41 car windows were broken from Lynn Valley to Grand Boulevard between 11 p.m. PT on May 14 and 3 a.m. on May 15.

RCMP estimate the replacement costs to fix the windows on the vehicles, which were all parked in residential areas, to be about $30,000.

"Police are very concerned over the actions of those responsible for the willful damage caused to people's personal property," said Cpl. Richard De Jong with North Vancouver RCMP.

"Fortunately no one was injured in these criminal acts."
