Prince Edward and Countess of Wessex to visit Saskatchewan this month

REGINA — Queen Elizabeth's youngest son, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife are coming to Regina.

Premier Brad Wall says the Edward and Sophie plan to visit the provincial capital from June 22 to 24 in part to celebrate the Globe Theatre's 50th anniversary.

The government says further program details will be announced closer to the visit dates.

This will be Edward's 38th visit to Canada and sixth visit to Saskatchewan.

He first visited the province in 1978 with his parents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

It will be Sophie's first visit to Saskatchewan.
