LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — No charges will be laid against a driver who unknowingly ran over a teenage girl lying under his truck in southern Alberta.
Police in Lethbridge say it's not clear why the 16-year-old, who died in hospital, was under the truck or how long she had been there.
They say the 55-year-old driver didn't see her when he got into his vehicle early in the morning to go to work.
The truck was parked on the street and ran over the girl as it pulled away from the curb.
Police say the driver immediately called 911 and remained on the scene.
Investigators have deemed the death accidental.
