Tornado struck Maniwaki, Que., on Thursday, environment Canada confirms

Environment Canada has confirmed a low-level tornado struck Maniwaki, Que., Thursday evening, but damage was limited and no one has been reported hurt.

The tornado hit at around 6 p.m., with winds of 130 km/h, putting it in the high range of an EF0 tornado, the weakest level on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, according to André Cantin with Environment Canada.

The tornado left a trail of broken and fallen trees in its path, caused a brick wall to collapse and tore off the front door at one store.

There were no reported injuries.
