If we live in a world where Priyanka Chopra, a former Miss World title holder, is the victim of a bad Photoshop job, then we have officially lost hope.
The Bollywood superstar turned Hollywood glamour queen landed the number one spot on Maxim India's annual Hot 100 list last week, but for some godly reason, the glossy went ahead and decided to Photoshop the actress.
Guys, they Photoshopped her armpits.
Last week, we reported the "Quantico" beauty was the glossy's June/July cover girl. But immediately we knew there was something fishy about the photoshoot. Yes, Priyanka looked amazing in the released photos, rocking a high pony tail and sheer black swimsuit, but there was something a little off.
We called out the photo below and the awkward white space below Priyanka's back. Was the mag trying to over-exaggerate her natural arch? We kind of thought so:
However, it was Priyanka's armpit on the front cover of the mag that had everyone else talking. In the words of the Hindustan Times, "there was 'pit-a-monium' on Twitter."
Fans of the 33-year-old began pointing out Priyanka's underarm had no fuzz, no natural folds or bends, as one normal armpit would. Rather, her skin looked incredibly smooth and highly edited.
With #ArmpitGate in full effect, Chopra finally took to her Instagram to address the Photoshop issue:
"Heres another "pit-stopping" picture to add to the debate. #WillTheRealArmpitPleaseStandUp #nofilter #armpitdiaries," Priyanka wrote.
So sure, she didn't mention whether or not Maxim had actually airbrushed the image, but she did prove she is willing to have a little fun with the allegations.
And hey, it seems like magazines are big fans of Priyanka's underarms as Maxim hasn't been the only glossy to feature the actress' most talked about body part:
Armpits aside, can we just all agree that Priyanka is stunning all day, everyday? Yes? Deal.
