Russell Brand Baby: Comedian Confirms He's Going To Be A Dad

The English comedian is expecting his first child in September.

Russell Brand is joining the dad club. On Friday, the English comedian confirmed on Instagram that he is expecting his first child with girlfriend Laura Gallacher.

In the snap, Brand is seen holding a copy of The Expectant Dad’s Handbook and looking wide-eyed. He captioned the photo, “Right then. My Mum bought me this. Time to get ready!”

The Instagram photo confirms rumours from May that Brand is going to be a first-time father this year. According to Winnipeg Free Press, the 44-year-old and his longtime girlfriend are expecting their wee one in September.

Brand’s baby news shouldn’t come as a surprise. In the past, the comedian has been open about his desire to have kids.

In 2011, the comedian told Redbook that he was ready to become a father. Then in 2013, following his divorce from Katy Perry, Brand said: “I would like a serious relationship, but I don’t think I’m sending the correct signals. I would like that. It’s alright, the world of roaming promiscuity, but ultimately you want some babies.”

Brand and Gallacher, a lifestyle blogger, have been dating on and off since 2007, but rekindled their romance last year. The “Arthur” star reportedly proposed to Gallacher last month and threw a private engagement party with friends and family.

Congrats to the happy couple!
