Queen Elizabeth Throws Herself One Last Birthday Party

Why stop the party anyway?

Just when we thought the Queen was done celebrating her birthday, we find out she threw herself one last party earlier this week.

On Tuesday evening, Her Majesty hosted a party to commemorate her 90th birthday at London's Drapers' Hall. Guests included husband Prince Philip; the queen's daughter, Princess Royal Anne; and granddaughter, Princess Eugenie of York, Hello! magazine reports.

Just last month, the monarch joked about still being alive just days after Britain voted to leave the European Union. Without commenting on 'Brexit," the Queen added "There's been quite a lot going on. I've had two birthdays, so we've been quite busy."

Tuesday's private party also served as a final get-together for the friends and family of the monarch before she begins her summer vacation at Balmoral in Scotland, The Daily Mail notes.

Balmoral has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since Queen Victoria purchased it in 1852. Since it was passed down to them, the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles have maintained the estate over the years while still retaining the look it held during the Victorian era.
