Where Do People Live The Longest?

Flush those high intensity workouts and juice cleanses down the drain.

Eat right, sleep well, and exercise regularly. It’s the recipe to living a long, healthy life. But Dan Buettner, author of the book Blue Zones, suggests otherwise.

Buettner used data to find places in the world where people live the longest. Places like Okinawa, Japan, where life expectancy for women is 90 years old, and Sardinia, Italy, where the number of 100 year olds is nearly 20 times higher than in the U.S.

It’s not just the culture and gene pools of these areas that prolongs life. Buettner suggests saying goodbye to high intensity workouts and smoothie diets. Instead, smaller things like building strong relationships, cutting down on meat, and doing low intensity exercise daily is the key to increasing life expectancy.
