In case you missed the memo, we've basically travelled back in time to the '90s. We're all wearing chokers and slip dresses over T-shirts combos, watching "Full House" (okay, "Fuller House") and playing Pokemon (Go — but you get the picture).
So it's no surprise that a popular '90s hairstyle is also making a comeback in a major way: double buns.
Yes, the 'do once rocked by Baby Spice (a.k.a. Emma Bunton) is popping up on our Instagram feeds and being sported by fashion's It girls (who, for the most part, were still babies in the '90s).
Hailey Baldwin, Cara Delevingne and Josephine Skriver have all been spotted rocking the hairstyle, as have Khloe Kardashian, songstress Joy. and Instagram star Gabrielle Grace Epstein.
Naturally, we want to hop aboard the double bun train, so we asked celebrity hairstylist and co-owner of Brennen Demelo studio in Toronto, Matthew Collins, to help us get the look.
Here's what to do:
1. First, take a centre part. Take one side and separate it, so it's easier to work on the first side.
2. Then, taking the hair on one side, brush one section up into a ponytail that sits between the top of your ear and the top of your head. Repeat on the other side.
3. After, take each piece and twist continuously until it starts to wrap on itself. Twist the hair around the base of the ponytail and pin. Matthew notes you should only pin a small amount of hair, otherwise, the pins will pop out over time. Each bun should require only three to four bobby pins, max.
4. Once you've secured your bun, you can pull some front pieces out for a more laid-back look, or mess up the buns for some texture.
And voila! You'll be feeling like Baby Spice 2.0 in no time.
