Alberta spends $9 M to help small, medium-sized businesses to bolster exports

EDMONTON — Alberta is spending $9 million to help small and medium-size businesses to bolster exports.

The money will go to programs designed to help companies connect with international investors by bringing business delegations to the province.

There will also be funds to help companies meet the challenges of exporting to new markets.

Deron Bilous, minister of economic development and trade, says increased exports will creates jobs and generate economic growth.

The new export program is to launch this fall and receive the money over three years.
