Laverne Cox is proving you don't need hair extensions or makeup to feel beautiful.
Usually slaying the red carpet with long, blond hair and a face of flawless makeup, the 32-year-old transgender actress took to Instagram recently to share an all-natural selfie.
Completely makeup-less and weave-free after taking out her braids, the "Orange Is The New Black" actress got real with her two million followers saying, "I love fake hair. It's one of the great joys of my life. As an actress and a woman I love being able to transform, to switch up my look when I want to with wigs, weaves and bundles a plenty. I love this too. It's about choices and options."
And this isn't the first time Cox has put her natural beauty out there. The #TransIsBeautiful advocate also shared a photo of herself on Instagram a few weeks ago in which she discussed self-love. Addressing rumours of a possible nose job, the actress posted an unfiltered and filtered photo of herself, side by side.
"For everyone who thinks I had a nose job, the surgeon is snapchat. The first photo has #nofilter. The second has the #snapchat beauty filter," she said. "I try to love, embrace and accept myself everyday, filter or no filter, make up or no makeup, weave or no weave. Filters are fun but they are no substitute for me waking up, looking in the mirror and seeing the unfiltered me as beautiful and worthy of acceptance and love. #TransIsBeautiful"
So there you have it, life advice from Laverne Cox: whether you're rocking a total, ultra glam red carpet look, or a low-key, makeup-free face, you should always feel fierce.
