Brianne Theisen-Eaton And Ashton Eaton Are A Match Made In Rio

Teamwork makes the dream work.

The world's fittest couple have proven their love is literally winning at the Rio Olympics.

Bronze medallist Brianne Theisen-Eaton represented Team Canada on the podium, following her comeback heptathlon performance. Her husband, Ashton Eaton, defended his title of "World's Greatest Athlete" in Rio, by upholding his Olympic gold streak in the men's decathalon.

The couple, who were engaged during the 2012 London Olympics and tied the knot in 2013, are never shy about how supportive they are of each other. These PDA moments prove their marriage transcends teams and borders:

They hug after one of them wins.

They show off patriotic spousal pride.

Eaton landed in hot water with Americans for wearing a Canada hat as he cheered in the stands when his Saskatchewan-born wife competed.

The decathalon champion and his wife fired back at haters because the couple that tweets together, stays together.

They're not above staring contests.

High fives, too!

Nose boops?

OK, maybe not.

Healthy eating is a team effort.

The couple keeps each other's nutritional goals in check with a six-point diet plan, and they rave about the merits of meat, full fat, and unrefined carbs. For the Eatons, quinoa and greek yogurt are king but they're not above little cheats, like bacon and satisfying Ashton's love for orange juice.

Bri and Ash train together too.

The heptathlon and decathlon champions work with coach Harry Marra (who had officiated their vows, Heavy reports), but one training session almost ended in disaster. Theisen-Eaton attempted to throw a javelin across a field, but accidentally let go of the spear in the wrong direction. It hurtled towards Eaton, who, Trackie reports, dodged just in time.

"It was one of those freak things," Eaton told Trackie. "I heard her scream, dodged to the left, turned around and saw a flash of purple. The tip went right under my nose."

The close call is now a fond story for the two athletes, and probably a good reminder to Eaton not to underestimate Theisen-Eaton's throwing arm.

Post-training naps take two to do.

They jump for photos, graduation-style.

Not surprising, considering they first met on the track team at the University of Oregon. They started dating months after training together.

Basically, they do everything together.
