NewsAlert: Judge grants bail to Saskatchewan farmer charged with murder

BATTLEFORD, Sask. — A judge has granted bail to a Saskatchewan farmer charged with the shooting death of an aboriginal man on his property.

Gerald Stanley is to be released on $10,000 bail with several conditions.

Stanley, who is 54, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Colten Boushie.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Boushie was shot and killed was killed Aug. 9 after the vehicle he was in drove onto a farm west of Saskatoon.

Boushie's cousin has said they were heading home to the Red Pheasant First Nation when they got a flat tire and were looking for help.
