WINNIPEG — The federal government says a 17-year-old has pleaded guilty to a terrorism charge in Manitoba youth court.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada says the teen admitted to counselling the commission of an indictable offence at the direction of, or in association with, a terrorist group.
In a release, it says the teen, who cannot be named, was 16 at the time of the offence.
No other details have been provided regarding the charges.
A spokesperson for the public prosecution service couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
The release says sentencing is to occur at a later date.
