Police investigation on Lakeshore GO train line causing major delays

Commuters on the Lakeshore West GO line can expect delays of upwards of two hours after a person was fatally struck on the tracks east of Clarkson station.

Peel Regional Police say they were called to the Queen Street West and Shawnmarr Road area in Mississauga just before 3:30 p.m., following reports of a person on the tracks. Mextrolinx later confirmed a fatality.

Residual delays on the Lakeshore East line are also possible, Metrolinx spokesperson Vanessa Barrasa says.

The 4:13 p.m. and 5:13 p.m trains from Union Sstation to Aldershot were cancelled along with the 4:31 p.m. train from Aldershot to Union station, as Peel police's major collision bureau continues to investigate.

Meanwhile, shuttle buses are operating between Clarkson and Port Credit stations, according to GO Transit.
