Gigi Hadid Gets Assaulted By Random Man On The Streets Of Milan

"[I] had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself."

Gigi Hadid is speaking out after being assaulted by a Ukrainian prankster on the streets following the Max Mara spring 2017 show at Milan Fashion Week.

The 21-year-old model was walking with sister, Bella Hadid, when the stranger came up from behind and literally picked Gigi up.

The Tommy Hilfiger designer responded like any normal human being would, attempting to free herself by using her arms and elbows.

Once she got out from his hold, you can see Hadid turn back in anger, before being brought to her car by security.

Many news outlets decided to use this, frankly, traumatizing incident as a way to attack Gigi, with the Daily Mail saying she "lashed out" at an "over eager fan" and The Sun saying her "aggressive" reaction was "not model behaviour."

The publications' tweets on the story used similar language:

Following the incident, Hadid took to Twitter to thank HuffPost U.K. Entertainment reporter, Rachel McGrath, for correcting The Sun's headline in a tweet to "GOOD FOR HER: Gigi Hadid Reacts in Totally Appropriate Way When Random Man Tries to Lift Her in the Street."

"THANK YOU Rachel," the Vogue cover star tweeted. "To unknown article writer: fan?!!! The ACTUAL fans that were there can tell you what happened. I'm a HUMAN BEING."

She continued, "And [I] had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho."

Bella also chimed in, retweeting the following from an Australian fan, "Men needs to learn the boundaries about touching women like this isn't acceptable in society. I hate it when they aren't listening" and "Who tf do you think you are trying grabbing Gigi without your consent, it is NEVER okay to grab someone let alone a woman. Educate yourself."

And truth be told, Gigi indeed had the right to defend herself. This was not a fan, but rather an unknown who had no right to pick up another person without her permission.

But by the looks of it, Gig is done talking about the situation, and instead posted this beautiful pic of her and her "lil sis" on Instagram:

Class. Act.
