When Alessandro Michele showed his Gucci cruise 2017 collection back in June, he told WWD it was inspired by the "beautiful chaos" of English culture.
"There’s something very punk about the idea that you can wear a skirt from your granny’s wardrobe," he told the publication.
And it looks like for the collection's campaign, Michele decided to enlist said "granny" to wear that skirt: 79-year-old acclaimed actress Vanessa Redgrave.
The Glen Luchford-photographed shoot sees the Academy Award-winning "Julia" star posing alongside a cast of models at Chatsworth House, the 16th century Derbyshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Accompanying the still images is a short film where Redgrave works the camera like a pro, even fist-bumping her co-stars.
There has been a recent influx of older models in campaigns and editorials lately, with 60-year-old Gillean McLeod appearing in a swimsuit ad for H&M in June and 100-year-old Bo Gilbert starring in a Harvey Nichols ad that appeared in the 100th anniversary issue of Vogue U.K.
Here's hoping we see more and more age diversity in upcoming features.
