B.C. Lottery Winners Didn't Tell 3 Youngest Kids They Won The Lottery

Daniel and Kelly Schulli won nearly $10 million in a Lotto 6/49 draw last month.

Talk about mean.

One Abbotsford, B.C. man and his wife just found out they won nearly $10 million, but they didn't tell most of their kids.

Instead, Daniel Schulli said in a Tuesday press release that his three youngest children will find out by watching the news.

Schulli and his wife Kelly learned on Monday that they won $9.7 million in a Lotto 6/49 draw last month, the couple told CTV Vancouver, but they only let their oldest know.

The two claimed their winning ticket together on Tuesday.

The couple were amazed by their luck.

“My wife and I have been walking around the house giggling because we just can’t believe it!” said Daniel.

The winning ticket came from Bradner General Store in Abbotsford.

But while the children will certainly be stunned to know that their parents are millionaires, Daniel told CTV Vancouver that they'll still have to clean their rooms.

"You're still getting a job!" Kelly said.

The huge windfall will make life a lot easier at home, Daniel said in the press release.

He also knows what his first purchase will be.

"The boys have been giving me a hard time about my 20-year-old pickup, so I might have to buy a new truck," he told CTV Vancouver.

The Schullis weren't the only lucky recipients of Lotto 6/49 prize money in Abbotsford, but the other winner was a bit more eager to spend.

Sikander Sekhon won $500,000, according to the Abbotsford News, and went out right away and bought a new car.
