Toronto Library Baseball Twitter Trash Talk Is Back (And It's Adorable)

Even other cities are getting involved!

There's no war like a library Twitter war.

As the Toronto Blue Jays (Canada's only baseball team in Major League Baseball) gear up for their second game in the American League Division Series against the Texas Rangers, our favourite kind of trash talk has already begun.

And with our home team leading the series against the Rangers 1-0, it seems like even other Canadian cities are getting in a feisty mood.

Oshawa Libraries tweeted their own message to the Arlington Texas Library: "We’re so excited for today’s game- even our books are giving us pep talks!"

Texas responded with their own trash talk: "Hey @OshawaLibraries, we're ready for our @Rangers to meet your @BlueJays head-on this afternoon!"

And things just got super serious when the Toronto library system got into the mix (they even called out Baltimore!):

The "beef" originally started in 2015, when the Toronto Public Library started tweeting adorable trash talking messages to the Kansas City Royals, the Blue Jays' former rivals in the playoffs. Earlier this year, the library doled out fighting words to Miami's Public Library after the Toronto Raptors took on the Miami Heat in the playoffs.

Let's just say we're excited to see how far this tweet battle actually goes — and of course, to see a witty Toronto (and even Oshawa, Ont.) come up on top!

The Toronto Blue Jays take on the Texas Rangers for their second game at 1 p.m. EST on Friday.
