Wisconsin Couple Left 4-Year-Old Home Alone To Carry Out Clown Prank, Say Police

They could face child neglect charges.

Another week, another report of clowns terrorizing people. But this incident could actually result in serious criminal charges.

A man and woman in Wisconsin have been arrested after allegedly leaving their child home alone while they drove around carrying out a clown prank.

Police in the city of Menasha were called early Friday morning for a report of clowns chasing after cars, according to a press release.

They say two men, ages 20 and 29, were dressed up, and a 26-year-old woman was driving them.

Cops said on Facebook that they later discovered that the 29-year-old man and the woman had left their four-year-old at home alone for several hours while they went out.

The girl has been taken away by social services, according to WBAY, and police are seeking child neglect charges against her parents.

The 20-year-old wasn't charged.

Menasha Police Chief Tim Styka told the Appleton Post-Crescent he didn't think the couple quite grasped the seriousness of the situation.

"It just really doesn't show the best judgment," he said.
