Call it the post-Olympics effect, or perhaps we're just getting in the holiday spirit, but gold beauty products are on our minds lately, and we can't get enough.
Our obsession first started last October, when makeup artist extraordinaire, Pat McGrath, released her first-ever beauty product, Gold 001, which consisted of a metallic gold pigment housed in a vacuum-sealed bag of gold sequins.
The options were endless with the pigment designed for "unrestrained play" — gilded eyelids, dramatic golden cat eyes, metallic accents on lips, or a full-on glittery, gold pout.
And now, McGrath is set to release her fifth creation from her labs, Metalmorphosis 005, a collection of metallic pigments, including Gold 001, in cream and powder form, along with Mehron mixing liquid and a double-ended black marker to create that perfect cat eye.
