Lululemon's New Reflective Splatter Leggings Cost A Whopping $298

High-tech = high price point.

Brace yourselves Lululemon fans — the Canadian athletic apparel brand has released its first capsule collection for its Lab concept stores in Vancouver, B.C. and New York, but it'll cost you a pretty penny (or, uh... dime).

Called "Reflective Splatter," the collection features a reflective tank, sports bra, tights and hot shorts, with prices ranging from $74 for the tank to $298 for the leggings, according to WWD.

The higher price point is due to the high-tech and experimental technique used to create the new reflective print: a double-printing process that, according to WWD, "includes a base layer of print with a second, superimposed reflective layer on top." This was used to create a less graphic and more glittery effect, Pascale Gueracague, Lululemon's director of future textiles, explained to the publication.

“I liked the idea of figuring out how to texturize reflectivity and evolve it beyond harder lines into something glittering and more feminine," Gueracague told Well + Good. "This line was really about synthesizing something super-functional—but also really beautiful—into a single expression."

The collection is available now online and at the Labs in New York and Vancouver. Check out the rest of the pieces below:
