Shannen Doherty Shares Heartbreaking Reality Of Living With Breast Cancer

Shannen Doherty is opening up candidly about her ongoing battle with cancer.

The 45-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer more than a year ago, shared a touching post on Instagram over the weekend looking back on her chemotherapy treatment.

Doherty said the days after getting chemo aren't always "so great."

"Sometimes one isn't able to dance, or eat or even to think about the next day. Sometimes it just feels like you aren't going to make it. That passes," she wrote on Instagram.

But looking ahead, Doherty adds there's always hope.

The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star also shared a picture of her and comedian Chelsea Handler, pointing out Handler always makes time to go on weekly dates with her.

"We met many many years ago. Have run into each other and always exchanged numbers, talked of plans etc. Chelsea reached out and has since, made a point to have date nights with me on a weekly basis," she wrote on Instagram. "Yeah she's funny but also wicked smart with a huge heart. This one just wants to make a difference. Sometimes the right people come into your life at the right time."

Earlier this month, the former "Charmed" actress also posted a video of herself dancing just one day after a chemo session — adding how great she felt after exercising.

Let me tell ya.... shaking your booty is hard work with my Neda who's been helping me move and get toxins out. Yes I was tired, yes I wanted to be in bed but I went and moved and felt way better. In May, Doherty underwent a mastectomy. Three months later, the star revealed to Entertainment Tonight her cancer had spread beyond her lymph nodes.

“The unknown is always the scariest part,” she said in the interview.

“Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work? You know, am I going to have to go through this again, or am I going to get secondary cancer? Everything else is manageable. Pain is manageable, you know, living without a breast is manageable. It’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love.”
