Man found not guilty of attempted murder in shooting in central Alberta

SYLVAN LAKE, Alta. — A man has been found not guilty of trying to kill a man in a trailer in central Alberta.

Andrew Snow was acquitted of attempted murder in the shooting west of Sylvan Lake in September 2015.

Richard Koehl, who is 34, was shot multiple times.

He testified he and Snow had just returned from a trip to Kelowna when Snow appeared in the hallway with a shotgun and shot him in the abdomen, left forearm, shoulder and back.

Snow testified someone else in the trailer was holding a gun and he ran out, then heard gunshots and saw Koehl run toward his neighbour's house.

Judge Gordon Yake said there was enough reasonable doubt on the evidence as a whole to render a not guilty verdict.
