Aaron Paul made a heartfelt tribute to his grandmother on Instagram, and we can’t stop crying.
On Monday, Paul’s maternal grandmother turned 94. To express his love for her, he posted a black-and-white photo of himself sitting beside her in the hospital. In the caption, he praised this “beautiful woman,” who he described as “easily the strongest woman I have ever met.”
To demonstrate her strength and her love for her family, he wrote: “The other day she was walking to let her dog out and next thing she knew she was on the ground. Her back splintered in 6 places. Right before this photo was taken she had her daughter Darla (my mom) call each of her grandchildren so she could say goodbye. She said that it was time for her to sleep and go see grandpa. She would always tell us ‘I love you all the same. No favorites.’”
Thankfully, Paul’s grandmother is now on the mend following her slip. “She is now recovering back at home telling jokes and resting a lot,” the 37-year-old continued in his caption. “She is a fighter. A beautiful fighter. Thank you grandma for everything.”
Paul is now urging everyone to call their grandparents. “Let them know how much you love them,” he wrote.
In just one day, the actor’s post has racked up over 260,000 likes and touched the hearts of many. “Amen to that statement!” one Instagram user wrote. “I just called my grandma yesterday & had a lovely conversation about how she prefers tea over coffee. Priceless.”
“Very sweet,” another said. “My grandmothers have all passed. But they are and will always be the greatest.”
