A 7-year-old Syrian girl who gained worldwide attention for her tweets from East Aleppo has said she and her family are "between death and life."
Bana Alabed tweeted about Monday's bombardments as Syrian troops captured northeastern parts of the city, placing former rebel-held areas under government control for the first time in four years.
More than 900 people have fled East Aleppo, including 119 children, according to Russian news agencies.
Alabed and her mother Fatemah, who runs her Twitter account, have been posting photos, videos, and status updates about the Syrian civl war, highlighting the impact the conflict has had on civilians.
On Sunday, Alabed posted a video of smoke rising as Syrian troops moved in over the past few days.
Alabed began tweeting in September, and has amassed over 138,000 followers since.
Her tweets caught the eye of author J.K. Rowling, who sent the girl copies of the "Harry Potter" novels.
