How To Wake Up Early, According To Science

There are many benefits to getting up earlier than usual.

Not all of us enjoy getting up at the crack of dawn but many of us don't have a choice, for various reasons. But just because we have to get up early, doesn't mean it's always easy to do so.

However, there are many health benefits to getting up early. For example, exercising early in the day, especially before eating breakfast, can burn 20 per cent more fat than a workout later in the day. Getting up earlier can also give you more time to eat a filling and healthy breakfast, which can help you make smart eating decisions throughout the day.

Fortunately, there are several ways to make your wake-up call less painful. Leaving your curtains open at night, for example, helps the sunrise reach you slowly, giving you a more natural way to wake up than, say, an alarm clock.
