A lot can change in 32 years, and geography is no exception.
Google released an updated version of their Earth Timelapse tool Tuesday, which now showcases stunning videos of the planet as it evolves from 1984 to 2016.
The map allows viewers to zoom in to different parts of the world, and highlights some of the world's most rapidly changing areas. Some of the most breathtaking displays capture the devastating effects of climate change, showing bodies of water and green land disappear.

The time-lapse entails a whopping five million images, captured by five different satellites, the company explained.
