Olivia Wilde Breastfeeding: Actress Says Bottle-Feeding Moms Shouldn't Be Shamed

"It should be a choice for everyone."

Olivia Wilde is a proud breastfeeding mama, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t respect other women’s decisions to bottle-feed their babies.

In an interview with People magazine, the 32-year-old actress made it clear that no mother should be shamed for the feeding method she chooses.

“It should be a choice for everyone. I don’t like the idea of breastfeeding being forced on anyone or anyone feeling guilty,” she told the site. “[Breastfeeding] is not easy — it’s messy. Like 90 per cent of the time you are soaked in milk. It is a difficult thing. But it is, personally for me, a great experience.”

Wilde has two young kids with fiancé Jason Sudeikis. She breastfed her two-year-old son Otis and is currently breastfeeding her newborn, two-month-old Daisy.

On Instagram, the “Vinyl” star has openly shared the joys and struggles of nursing her baby.

This isn’t the first time Wilde has stood up for bottle-feeding mamas.

In response to a breastfeeding photo of her and Otis published in the September 2014 issue of Glamour magazine, Wilde told Yahoo Beauty: “People should be allowed to breastfeed wherever they want, whenever they want. There should be no pressure on women to breastfeed, or they are made to seem like they are terrible mothers. I think that’s really unfair.”
