Canada earns silver after 4-0 loss to United States at junior-A challenge

BONNYVILLE, Alta. — Cayden Primeau stopped all 14 shots he faced and Matt Kiersted had two assists as the United States shut out Canada East 4-0 to win gold at the world junior-A challenge on Saturday.

Ethen Frank, Nick Swaney, Alex Limoges and Collin Adams scored for the U.S.

Stefano Cantali stopped 40-of-44 shots for the Canadians.

It was the seventh junior-A gold for the Americans, who also claimed top prize in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Canada East settled for silver for the fifth time at the tournament.
