Kristen Bell Kids: Actress Has Perfect Advice For Dealing With Public Tantrums

“Only you can make you feel a certain way."

Kristen Bell has some advice for all the moms out there embarrassed by their child's sudden outbursts -- stop blaming yourselves.

“If my child is acting a fool in the grocery store, the embarrassment is on her,” Bell told parenting website Babble. “In truth, that shouldn’t make me feel a certain way.”

Bell, who's a mother of two, went on to admit she isn't ashamed of her children's public temper tantrums. “She’s going to act the way a child acts," she said in reference to daughters: Lincoln, 3, and Delta, 2, "and I’m not going to let that reflect on me or bring me down. That shouldn’t make me feel ashamed or embarrassed in any way. Only you can make you feel a certain way.”

Bell, who most recently starred in the comedy "Bad Moms," wants to remind parents that they are in control of how they respond to stressful and exhausting situations.

"Once the negative feeling starts to own you, it’s on you to put it in the trash and let it go. You are the only person that has the power to change your feelings,” she says.

Bell and her husband, fellow actor Dax Shepard have been vocal about parenthood since their first daughter Lincoln was born in 2013, often taking to social media to chronicle their foray into parenting.

Together, and in collaboration with other celebrity parents, Bell and Shepard called for a boycott of magazines that pay for photos of celebrity kids. The duo also avoids posting photos of their daughters on social media.
