Plenty of Manitobans used December's wicked blizzards as an excuse to curl up inside with a mug of hot chocolate, but one family took the weather as a chance to flex their creativity.
The Dueck family has an annual tradition of building a massive snowman in the front yard of their Rosenort home, but this year they outdid themselves with a six-metre-high giant.
The snowman has a wooden frame, so visitors can climb inside and peek out its mouth. They used a grain auger to dump out the massive amount of snow required for the project, which took about three weeks to complete.
Believe it or not, they've still got a ways to go if they want to build the biggest snowman ever. That record goes to residents of Bethel, Maine, who built a 37-metre-high snowman in 2008.
