You've probably heard a thing or 12 by now about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's handshake with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday.
Was it a power move? Was it a response to a power move? Was it, you know, just a handshake? The union of the palms gave anyone interested in body language a lot to analyze.
But there's a lot more to unpack in the two leaders' behaviour around one another.
Body language expert Mark Bowden told The Huffington Post Canada that Trudeau and Trump exhibited styles during their first press conference together that were remarkably different from what we're used to seeing.
"You have two people in a very important situation for their respective countries," Bowden said, "and I think what they do is feel the pressure of that and decide to keep everything very still, very measured, which is not the usual Trump and actually not the usual Trudeau."
Bowden added that while we've become used to seeing a "passionate" and "excitable" Trump, the president displayed a much more "sombre" tone on Monday.
