RCMP Rescued This Nearly Frozen Kitten From A Saskatchewan Storm

This one's a fighter.

Two RCMP officers driving on Saskatchewan's Highway 39 made an unexpected discovery last week.

Caught in the middle of slow-moving traffic and a snowstorm, the Mounties swerved in order to avoid hitting an object on the road. At first they thought it was a chunk of ice, but it wasn't. It was a small kitten, covered in snow and meowing profusely.

Cpl. Sean Chiddenton and Const. Ryan Oram stopped their car once they realized it was an animal, according to a Facebook post by Saskatchewan RCMP.

"[The constable] backed up and the partially-frozen lump stood up and started walking towards him," the post read.

The kitten was taken to the Prairie Animal Health Centre in Weyburn, and was nearly frozen solid and screaming in pain.

"He was obviously very hypothermic and very frostbitten," Dr. Catherine Colodey told Global News.

The little fighter was given warm baths and food, and quickly returned to his regular, very vocal self.

The story had an even happier ending when the adorable feline was adopted. His name is now Ambrose, and it looks like he's smitten with his new owner.
