Trial starts for Fredericton cab driver accused of sexual assault

A trial started in Fredericton provincial court on Monday for a local taxi driver accused of two counts of sexual assault.

Bahman Babakhani, 48, is accused of inappropriately touching two women on separate occasions in the early mornings of Sept. 3 and Sept. 8. In both cases, the women said they were passengers in his cab.

The women cannot be named due to a publication ban on publication. Both testified before Judge Jacques Desjardins on Monday. 

The case will continue in Burton court on Friday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
