Justin Trudeau Challenges Matthew Perry To A Rematch

Perry told Jimmy Kimmel last month that he beat up the PM in school.

UPDATE - April 2:Trudeau's principal press secretary Gerald Butts confirmed that it was a joke after People Magazine appeared to take the Prime Minister's tweet seriously.

"Gotcha, @people. #poissondavril,'' Butts tweeted about the People article on Trudeau's tweet on the magazine's website, which made no mention of April Fools' Day.

As for Matthew Perry, he's definitely not keen to take on Trudeau again.

One round wasn't enough for Justin Trudeau.

The prime minister challenged actor Matthew Perry to a rematch on Twitter Saturday — or April 1, for those who weren't aware.

"I've been giving it some thought, and you know what, who hasn't wanted to punch Chandler?" Trudeau wrote in a tweet. "How about a rematch @MatthewPerry?"

Last month, Perry told Jimmy Kimmel that he beat up Trudeau in Grade Five. The two attended the same school in Ottawa.

Perry may have been bigger than Trudeau in elementary school, but much has changed since then. Trudeau is a boxer, and hits above his weight. He famously defeated Conservative Senator Patrick Brazeau in a charity match in 2012.

We'd love to see the outcome of a rematch, though given the prime minister's love of pranks, we don't have our hopes too high about it actually happening.
