Police charge man with 250 incidents of graffiti at University of Alberta

EDMONTON — Police say they've charged a man they allege is behind close to 250 incidents of graffiti at the University of Alberta.

They say the university's protective services reported 249 graffiti tags of “Atlas" on stairways, electrical fixtures, vending machines, parking barriers, garbage receptacles, chairs, doors, washrooms and heating ducts.

These occurred between October 2016 and this month.

Police say the total cost to repair and remove these tags is estimated at approximately $50,000.

Benjamin Jay Livingstone, who is 21, is charged with one count of global mischief over $5,000.

Police say more charges may come in relation to other graffiti across Edmonton.
