Janet Jackson Reportedly Splits From Husband Three Months After Giving Birth

The couple has been married for five years.

Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana have reportedly called it quits, just three months after welcoming their first child.

According to Page Six, sources have mixed views on the reason behind the split. While one claims it was amicable, another told the outlet that Al Mana became “too controlling” during Jackson’s pregnancy.

As of Sunday, neither Jackson nor Al Mana have commented on the split.

The couple welcomed their son, Eissa, on Jan. 3 after nearly five years of marriage.

Since the two tied the knot in 2012, they have been incredibly private about their home life. In fact, Jackson never officially announced her pregnancy. In April 2016, the 50-year-old singer only hinted at it when she announced she would postpone her Unbreakable tour to start a family.

“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change,” she said in a video to her fans. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

It wasn’t until October that the “Rhythm Nation” singer finally confirmed rumours of her pregnancy by sharing a gorgeous photo.

At the time, Jackson told People magazine, “We thank God for our blessing.”

Jackson’s marriage to Al Mana is her third. The songstress was previously married to R&B singer James DeBarge and professional dancer René Elizondo Jr.
