Australia native Brittany Noonan wears many hats.
She's a health and wellness trainer, fashion lover and wife. But most importantly, she's a mother.
And she's all too familiar with the pressures moms face when it comes to having the perfect post-baby body.
"There was a time in my life when I wanted to die, I did not want to live. I wanted to escape, run away, disappear - I didn't want to be me all because of my body," she captioned an Instagram photo of herself with her daughter in late April. "I hated the vessel that carried me through life so much that I no longer wanted to exist because I felt like I couldn't escape the trap I felt like I was in physically and mentally."
"This photo would have destroyed me if I saw it when I was that girl because nothing was ever good enough, my only purpose in life then was to be what I thought was a better looking, skinnier version of myself because I thought that meant people would like me and I would be confident, happier and free of all my self hate and mental issues," she continued.
Noonan then went on to explain that she began to reflect on this low point after she was triggered. And while the mama doesn't specify what exactly caused this, she said she's very grateful to "the man of her dreams" who held her hand through therapy and blessed her with daughter Milena.
Similarly, mother-of-three Kelly Diane Howland also spoke up about body pressure after a woman offered her a postpartum weight loss product while she was shopping in Target.
"We all know that this culture hammers into postpartum women a lot of physical insecurity about their bodies after delivering their miracles from their wombs," she wrote in a Facebook post. "I don't think I have to spell out for a single woman the cultural pressure that postpartum mothers face regarding their physical appearance."
"My body doesn't need to be wrapped or squeezed or changed. It needs to be valued and revered for the incredible life it just brought into this world."
Nonetheless, Noonan has found a healthy way to feel comfortable in her own skin again and shares some her at-home fitness tips with other moms.
She even offers ways you can incorporate your child into your workouts.
So brilliant.
Go, mama, go!
