Jean-François Rancourt, 56, a family doctor in Montmagny, Que., was charged with 10 counts of sexual assault Friday morning.
Rancourt was released on $10,000 bail and is set to be back in court Sept. 8.
In May, he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct before a disciplinary committee of the Collège des médecins du Québec, the province's professional order of physicians.
At the time, the college ordered that his licence be suspended immediately.
In the two months since that ruling, six more patients have come forward alleging Rancourt sexually assaulted them.
There are a total of 10 complainants, all women between the ages of 20 and 40, and the incidents are alleged to have taken place between 2012 and May 2017.
