Calgary man charged after female black lab left too long in hot car

CALGARY — A Calgary man has been charged after a dog was left in a hot car and died.

The Calgary Humane Society says it took the dead female black lab from a neighbourhood on the city's east side last week.

Investigators believe the dog had been left in a car for an extended period of time and died because it got too hot.

Temperatures outside at the time reached 31 C.

The agency says Jeremy Quaile, who is 45, has been charged with causing an animal to be in distress.
