HALIFAX — Police in Halifax are investigating an alleged physical and sexual assault of a female cab passenger.
Halifax Regional Police say the incident allegedly occurred at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 26 while the cab driver was driving a woman to a home in Dartmouth.
They say the woman sustained non-life threatening facial injuries.
A police spokeswoman says no arrest has been made and investigators currently have limited details about the incident.
Police say sexual assault investigations are complex, and they work closely with victims to ensure they're willing to proceed with a police investigation.
The acquittal of a Halifax taxi driver accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated female passenger in March sparked national outrage including two public protests.
