Toronto police have charged a man with strangling a 22-year-old woman who was last seen alive in the city's gay village.
Police say Kalen Schlatter, 21, of Toronto, is charged with one count of second-degree murder in Tess Richey's death.
Richey was reported missing in the early hours of November 25.
Her mother, from North Bay, Ont., found her body several days later in a stairwell outside a downtown building.
Richey's death sparked questions about how investigators had handled her case.
In response, police announced a review of procedures amid concerns about their investigations into the disappearances of several men linked to the gay village.
