WHL Roundup: Estephan, Heponiemi lead Broncos in 6-4 win over Hitmen

CALGARY — Giorgio Estephan scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period and Aleksi Heponiemi added four assists to power the Swift Current Broncos to a 6-4 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday in Western Hockey League action.

Estephan scored the winner 14:51 into the third and Beck Malenstyn added an insurance goal three minutes later.

MacKenzie Wight, Jacson Alexander, Tyler Steenbergen and Glenn Gawdin also scored for Swift Current (45-14-5).

Jakob Stukel, Riley Stotts, Vladislav Yeryomenko and Carson Focht scored for the Hitmen (19-35-7).

Broncos goaltenders Joel Hofer and Stuart Skinner combined for 24 saves. Calgary's Nick Schneider turned aside 28 shots.
