Amber Alert Ends After Missing 3-Year-Old Boy Found In Toronto

The child and his mother are safe, police say.

The search for a missing three-year-old boy is over after the child and his mother were found safe, Toronto police say.

The two were found Tuesday near Lake Shore Boulevard West and Fort York Boulevard in Toronto at around 7:30 a.m. ET, Toronto police told HuffPost Canada.

The pair was last seen by the boy's guardian Monday when they were dropped off at the Rainbow Mall in downtown Sudbury, according to authorities.

An Amber Alert was issued in Ontario at around 5 a.m. after the boy was last seen travelling on a bus from Sudbury, Ont., to Toronto.

Police say the alert was sent after the boy's guardian contacted police after he had not been returned home.

Sudbury police said in a statement both parties were located in "good health." They went on to thank the Ontario Provincial Police and the Toronto Police Service for their assistance in getting the message out.

"Once again thank you to everyone who provided information and shared the Amber Alert, this proves that the Alert system works and has resulted in safely locating an abducted child," Sudbury police added.
