Alexis Marie Chute is the author of the Indie Book Award and Canada Book Award winning memoir Expecting Sunshine: A Journey of Grief, Healing and Pregnancy After Loss, published by She Writes Press. She is also a distinguished artist, photographer, and filmmaker. Alexis Marie has her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art and Design from the University of Alberta and her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Alexis Marie has been named an “Emerging Canadian Photographer” by Photo Life Magazine, a “Top 40 Under 40” by Avenue Magazine, and was awarded the John Poole Award for Promotion of the Arts. She is also the director-producer of the feature film accompanying her book, called Expecting Sunshine: The Truth about Pregnancy After Loss. Her writing has been widely published in places such as TIME, Today’s Parent, Scary Mommy, PhotoEd, and WestWord Magazine.
