Environmental/animal rights activist
My name is Candice Tubbs. Since I was a young kid I have been passionate about living a happy and sustainable lifestyle. In high school I was the executive of the Environment committee and the Co-President of the students council where we would organize and bring awareness to many important issues. Over the past four years spent in university, I have become even more aware and engaged in ways that we can work together to make positive change in this world. I enjoy being outdoors in nature and it makes me very upset to see so many abusing and taking advantage of our natural world. When I am finished my school I will be an elementary school teacher. I plan to educate kids at a young age about the importance of working together and learning ways to be green. I will teach the future generations to be kind to everyone and everything we share this planet with and how to be a positive influence in the world.
The fact that food is discarded because we "have too much" or because it doesn't look right, or enough wasn't sold and it can be thrown away without a second thought goes to show that this food management program is not working right. We as a society need to learn the importance of eating locally and seasonally.
