Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator
Caren Thomson is a registered nurse and diabetes nurse educator in British Columbia, and has been involved in the management and counseling of people living with diabetes for the past seven years. She has given numerous lectures on the management of diabetes to different healthcare professionals, including: physicians, nurses, pharmacists and dieticians.
Avoid Skipping Meals: People living with diabetes have leaky livers, meaning that their livers release sugar into the bloodstream if they don't eat every four to six hours. Therefore, skipping a meal, even if you overindulged during the previous one, can do more harm than good to blood glucose levels.
