Carl Hiehn is a Toronto-based food blogger, chef and restaurant manager. He currently blogs at 24 Carrots, a simple home-cooking inspired website while managing The Beaver Cafe on Queen St. W. at night. His resume also includes notable culinary positions at both The Gladstone Hotel and Pangaea Restaurant as well as a 3-month journalism internship at Eye Weekly Newspaper (now The Grid).
Hassel Aviles was a front-runner in the Toronto food boom when she concocted Toronto's inaugural foodie event Toronto Underground Market (TUM) alongside business partner Kate Clegg in 2011. But as the classic adage goes, all good things must come to an end and after three successful years, Hassel and Kate have decided to make their third year anniversary edition on September 27th their very last.

Ashley Jacot De Boinod of Glory Hole Doughnuts has been frying-up her warm 'nuts for almost two full years now. She's come a long way since she first crowd-sourced the funds to open her tongue-in-cheek Parkdale shop and she's proud to report things are going well.

For six weeks now, Jessica Lange has been hexing her way around New Orleans on American Horror Story: Coven. Between Lange's participation in the occult, a minotaur sex scene, and, of course, the swampy-Louisiana backdrop, I've had gumbo on my mind.

It contains all four food groups and is low in fat and sodium so I don't feel weighed down while pounding the pavement.

Yes, that's right, I made a hybrid apple crumble-pie. I make no claim to inventing the idea. I'm certain some woman in small-town USA deserves that praise. However, I think I've perfected the art form. Here's what you need to know about my easy-as-pie crumble-pie recipe.
